Redefine Beauty

Today, I’m inspired to talk to you about embracing your beauty in order to redefine beauty standards in the world.  I know it’s been a long time since I posted on this blog, I promise not to abandon you for this long again.  Today more than ever we’re seeing the change in how we see beauty. We see more women of colour, with disabilities, survivors of sever illness and more, who are getting the opportunity to have their say and push back on what has long been considered ‘the norm’ in mainstream media.

Although there is still a strong tendency to show the same type of beauty in advertising campaigns, on television and other sources of media, we have seen a rise in women who are speaking up about the importance of embracing diversity.

They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  I always say if that’s the case, then you should learn to ‘behold your own beauty’.  How can you expect everyone else to see your beauty and embrace diversity, if you’re not loving of what you have to offer.

Start the new year off with a new attitude of self-love and redefining what it means to be beautiful.  I would love to hear from you about your own beauty moments.  What do you love about yourself that you think can redefine beauty. Challenge the beauty standards that exist.
