Ashley Graham has made history as the first Plus-Size Model to appear on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. At size 14, she is a more accurate representation of the average woman.
It’s wonderful to see mainstream media taking the steps to change the single standard of beauty. We come in all shapes and sizes and the more we see diversity in body type the better women will be able to embrace their beauty differences.
Her cover is one of three that were released this year. So far social media has been mostly positive with several people happy to see her on the cover. Hopefully this is a sign of more things like this in the fashion and beauty industry.
