Beauty Hydration

It’s true what they say that drinking water is the first step to taking care of yourself.  Often when models are asked for their beauty secrets it’s one of the first things they mention.  I will admit, drinking water is something that I struggle with.  I’d rather drink something that has flavour to it.  I guess that’s why companies have all those flavoured H20 drinks on the market now.  It’s a great way to get us drinking it but the only thing I don’t like is most of them use sweeteners (I don’t like the taste of sweeteners).  But they are a good alternative.

Bottom line is when you are well hydrated the body functions so much better.

Because beauty comes from the inside out, when you take better care of yourself, it’s only natural it will come out physically.  When you feel better, your attitude is better which radiates positive energy and makes for a better you.  When all that is in place, looking and feeling your best will come naturally and much easier.

Here are some of the benefits of water:

  1. A hydrated body is less fatigued.
  2. Breaks the cycle of fluid retention. (Reduce salt also)
  3. Keeps your digestive system in order. Good for colon.
  4. It gives your skin a natural moisture.
  5. Improves blood flow and the pH balance of your body.

There are just a few of the benefits of drinking water.  There are so many.  Just commit to drinking 6-8 glasses a day.  Your best bet is to get started early.  When you wake up, have a couple of glasses before you even have breakfast.  You’ll notice your body will be off to a good start and the digestive system will work much better.

Start small.  It’s a difficult transition.  If you wake up one day and just start drinking 6-8 glasses when you were only having 1 or 2 before, you’re definitely going to ‘fall off the wagon’.  Add a glass to your routine each week.  Over time, you’ll get used to it then it will be easy and before you know it, you’ll be up to the recommended daily amount.

Quick beauty skin tip:  Wash your face with lukewarm water.  Final rinse with cool to cold water.  This helps cleanse properly and the cold water helps reduce any swelling that may be present.
