No Makeup, No Problem

Imagine appearing on camera in front of millions of viewers without makeup.  That’s exactly what the co-hosts of CBS daytime show ‘The Talk’ did for the Season 3 premier episode.  Julie Chen, Aisha Tyler, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Sara Gilbert arrived without makeup and only wearing their white robes or towels.  Gilbert told Entertainment Tonight that it was her idea and was glad everyone was on board.

Even guests on the show embraced the idea of being makeup-free.  Jamie Lee Curtis, who has recently made her views known on the issues of women, beauty and unrealistic images in media, said the idea was revolutionary and would have an impact.  Melody Thomas Scoot, Michelle Stafford and Katherine Kelly were also guests who happily appeared without makeup.

Celebrities usually are never step out without any makeup, let alone choosing to be seen by millions.  A show like this is a step in a new direction that helps women realize that people in media are just like everyone else.  With makeup anyone can look glamorous and ‘perfect’.  The ladies proved that being comfortable in our own skin is key to having confidence.

Watch the video below where the hosts and TV soap stars talk about being free and natural.
